People are always surprised at how many people are needed on a film set. And this is usually people that are walking onto a small commercial shoot for the first time can can't believe there are so many lights. Usually, even the smallest run and gun film crews have three guys in them. I've seen where people send a single camera guy out to grab footage but that is rare. Any decent shoot to the larger more detailed shoots could have anywhere from a dozen different crew members to over 100 crew members. It all depends on what is being shot, how many cast members there are, how complicated the shoot is, and how quick the production has to go. Yes budget might effect how many people there are but the budget really is only a limiter. and if the crew is cut smaller the project will take more time. |
